Late 19th Century - a very interesting an unusual item! For a Victorian lady -- appointment folder with mother of pearl cover and ivory leaves. Leaves are labeled Monday through Saturday -- no leaf for Sunday was included, as Sunday was reserved for Church and Family. Booklet closes with nickel silver locking clasp. Appointments were written on the ivory with a grease pencil, and then erased with a tissue when appointment was completed. Condition is very good -- Friday and Saturday do have some chipping, as ivory dries out over time and becomes quite brittle. Closed, the booklet measures 3-1/4" long x 1-1/2" wide.
